Leadership

I think that all of God's children all called to be leaders. As Jesus was when he was on the Earth, we are to be also, leaders. Jesus came to the Earth to set THE example. His lifestyle and methods of living are exactly the way we are to strive to be, perfect.
Daniel 21:3 says,
"The wise people will shine like the brightness of the sky. Those who teach others to live right will sine like stars forever and ever."
I think the Lord is showing us here in this verse the results of being a good leader. Also, that we are all called to be leaders and good ones! There is a certain precedent that is set for all leaders of any kind in or to be considered good. First of which I believe to be the most important, you must live according to the word you preach. It is one of the greatest shames to all Christians to see one of our leaders fall, such as the preachers you hear about that commit adultery with young girls and things like that. We should always forgive and be the first to welcome them into the arms of the Church as Jesus himself would most definitely do and even more so, expect us to do. Another characteristic of a leader is to be correct. If a leader is not leading in the right direction they should have enough confidence and character about themselves to admit it and fix the path that leads the others. Another is honesty, brutal honesty. A leader should ALWAYS be more than honest with his/her followers. A group has to have a certain amount of trust in a leader in or for them to be successful ones. That bringing me to my next characteristic of a leader, trustworthy. A LEADER CANNOT AND WILL NOT LEAD EFFECTIVELY IF THEY CANNOT BE TRUSTED! This pertaining to the many leaders who do not follow the characteristics I spoke about just now. So lets all look at ourselves as leaders from now on. Lets lead the revolution that Jesus started 2000 years ago!
"You can never separate a leader's actions from his character."
-John Maxwell
