The Old Man

This is a song a wrote entitled "The Old Man". It is a story that is told pretty much based on myself. The man in the song is dying(much like you and I; everyone is going to die, therefore we are all dying) and he is very scared. He is doing many things and has many habits that are sinful and evil. He knows the Lord exsists but he doesn't feel that he is a christian or has been saved. The old man tells him all about Jesus and how he saved us all by dying on the cross. The man becomes saved and gives testamony to what he has become through Jesus. I remember very well feeling this way. I hated myself knowing that God was real and that God could turn my life around but I just didn't want to give up everything that I thought was fun. It took me a while to realize that God doesn't want us not to have fun or us not to be happy. In fact, just the opposite. Through God you will find that happiness and peace that you have been searching for so hard and so long in all the wrong places. DRINKING won't do it, SEX won't do it, DRUGS won't do it. Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

God's individual plan for each and everyone of us is so amazing and fulfilling that we can't even imagine it. We don't know what we are to do with our lives because we can't comprehend the thought of exactly "what would make us the most happy and successful". That is what God's plan is for each and everyone of us. So lets all stop trying so hard to make OUR dreams come true and GET ON OUR KNEES and start working on GOD'S dreams.

The old man told me his story

Told me all about his glory

He saved my life, showed me the way

He's the reason that I'm here today

Not running away from here

Cause that old man was Jesus Christ
